My top 5 bands of the 90's

5. Tool

They showed that even though you are in a rock band, you can still be intelligent and still be enjoyable to the mainstream audience.

4. 311

311(Three Eleven) release several albums, including the self titled triple-platinum album "311". They introduced a new-era of genre through alternative music with a blend of reggae

3. Incubus

Incubus, with their new style of alternative playing with with the immense use of gadgetry and the use of turn-tables. They wrote popular singles like "Warning", " "Wish you were here", "Circles" and their hit single "Drive".

2. Third Eye Blind

Third eye blind is an alternative band in the early 90's which produced singles that topped the billboard charts like "Graduate", "Never let you go", "Jumper" and my personal favorite "Semi-charmed life".

1. Nirvana

Nirvana, the most popular band in the 90's is a grunge/metal-alternative band composed of Drummer Dave Grohl, Bassist Krist Novoselic and vocalist Kurt Cobain. They have chart topping singles like "Heart-shaped box", "All apologies", "Come as you are" and the greatest song in the 90's by billboard 100 and is also my personal favorite. Sadly their reign ended with the death of Kurt Cobain on April 5th, 1994 who committed suicide on his Lake Washington home. Cobain's artistic endeavors and struggles with heroin addiction, illness and depression, as well as the circumstances of his death have become a frequent topic of fascination, debate, and controversy throughout the world.

He was ranked by Rolling Stone as the 12th greatest guitarist and 45th greatest singer of all time, and by MTV as 7th in the "22 Greatest Voices in Music". In 2006, he was placed at number twenty by Hit Parader on their list of the "100 Greatest Metal Singers of All Time".
